Task Second Life

Look the fantasy of a second life is somewhat appealing, however I am, as some of you may understand flat out living my primary life (which I adore) I can see that with time and an inquisitive nature it would lock you in for hours. I was interested to see universities and countries utilizing for different purposes. I also see it as an interesting tool to use to teach socialization the cause and effect. Different dynamics and how they could interact, I must admit at 7ish in the morning I would quite happily swap my weetbix / nutragrain discussion for a virtual visit to a cafe with some virtual friends to do as..... one can only dream! or can they?

Task 9 iGoogle

I went ahead and set up the iGoogle home page. Included my own touches, music, books, weather it was very quick. I had lost internet connection over a week, trouble with the wireless, so I want to investigate the next tasks, and then come back to play. It has been a very frustrating time waiting. but ecountered some top tech support.

#5 -#7 Where have all the post it notes gone?

I can now travel with out becoming geographically embarrassed, make sure I have a number of good books to see me through the journey, and on my return I can create an apropriate presentation to entice other people to follow in my footsteps. Or I could become a better organised person. Funnily enough I still put post it notes on my laptop.
Seriously, I have formulated the idea of starting a web site for my dance classes. Ontop of this use google docs for the Feedback questionnaire at the end of the year, all to be completed on line.
I have often used google maps, I actually don't use a GPS I find the google map to be sufficient.
Google images has saved me this weekend as my son has a diorama to build on Fern Gully The last rainforest. It has given us some amazing backdrops.
I have accessed Youtube for a cyber bullying unit we have in place this term, The FaceBook song is worth a look, will try to put it up as a link.
Funnily enough a good friend has suggested a few meditation books I was able to browse abit and then decide it if was what I was after. I have now located and ordered one of them.
I have bought my son a camera for his birthday and had a quick look at picassa . Unless there are any other suggestions out there.

I have become addicted to You tube, there is so much material to use. I teach HSC Religion. It has made it more approachable to be able to show the students visually the different beliefs out there.
However I must tear my self away, apparently my daughter has taught herself to ride a bike while I have been "working" . I didn't think I had been locked away that long.

#4 Web 2 Whats it all about

Procrastination is the thief of time. soooooo very true. It is no different with the net. To search is to be sidetracked.. I was asked to help out with the Librarians position until it could be filled. Well that was 3 terms ago and I am still here. I eyes have been out on stalks and my jaw on the ground not a pretty site but I have never felt so overwhelmed by a situation. This is coming from someone who has moved house so many times my children ask for a new house for christmas, I have worked in over 16 schools in various teaching positions, I teach preschool tap for heavens sake! I have dealt with plenty that life has thrown my way. But I am utterly gobsmacked by the magnitude of this seemingly unobtrusive piece of technology, do I get it, no not all of it. I am not a systems person, I am social but not a social networker, I want to be however life style has prevented this sometimes.
I am not afraid of this just in awe of it, and it has not clicked yet. I am not savey with it and not free enought to experiment with its capabilities. this is why I signed up. I want it to make sence. Yes I google, yes I use ebay yes I buy off amazon yes I have a yahoo account. So I too am entrenched, but there is so much I want and need to know. I guess after reading this weeks papers, this was what was on my mind. Embarressed, alittle, but prepared to change this. I will go back and read again.

Whats with the time

Contrary to popular belief, I adore my pillow and need my sleep! I am not sure what time zone I have placed myself in nor am I sure how to adjust it. If anyone knows clue me in. Until then,

Chamomile in my Goddess mug

It is a chamomile moment in my Goddess mug. I own this oestentatious mug with Goddess emblazened on it. Somehow it manages to to put a smirk on my face at the end of the day.
It was actually quite lovely to read a few posts. Apologies for the colours used, I am attracted to bright colours and bright sparkly things, hope the adjustment does not hurt the eyes.
however, I am about to fossik around and read some other blogs and have an old fashioned new age natter.
